WOW, what a kettle!October 27, 2006 Valerie Barber(Accokeek, MD USA) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I love everything about this kettle. The clear guide on the side showing the level of water (in liters). How quickly the water comes to a boil is astonishing, and when it does start to boil, the pot automatically cuts itself off. The pot also cuts off if all of the water boils out. The cord is short however to prevent tripping, but works just fine with an extension cord if necessary. This is a wonderful product!
Great Tea KettleFebruary 25, 2008 C. Browder 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I moved to the States from Canada and was horrified to see how few electric kettles there are available in stores. The one I had back home is quite old so I left it there thinking I'll just run out to the store & buy one. WRONG! Most stores only carry a couple & they're over $40! And Macy's had one that was just plain weird!
Anyhoo, I found this one and ordered it. Sunbeam is a good popular brand in Canada so I felt confident in purchasing it. It is GREAT! It doesn't have the heating coils in the bottom which is good. The coils can build up mineral deposits over time. It just has a flat metal heating element at the bottom. It is quiet and you can see the water inside boiling away. And the auto-shut off is wonderful. I'm quite pleased with my purchase. Now, if I could order some good Canadian tea from here...
A Kitchen "extra goody"May 20, 2007 B. Brown(California) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This little kettle is great. I am a tea drinker and bought it for that purpose but have found many ways to use it. Make hummingbird food and the water is hot enough to mix the sugar. Good for anything that calls for boiling water. Just wish it didn't turn off after boiling so it would be handy all the time.
Does the Job!October 23, 2007 G. Taylor(washington, d.c.) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I love this kettle. I bought it for my dorm room to heat water for tea, easy mac, oatmeal etc. It heats the water very fast and shuts off when it is done. It even melts ice incredibly fast. The only downside to this product is how the cord is attached to the kettle so it kind of gets in the way when pouring, just make sure you unplug it from the wall.
Outstanding Electric Kettle!November 2, 2008 Marilynne W. Rodgers(Champaign, IL United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After a recent trip to the Channel Islands where my husband and I enjoyed having tea in our room using an electric kettle, we decided we needed to have one at home. After reviewing a number of those listed on Amazon and reading the reviews, we chose this Sunbeam kettle and are very pleased we did. It is a sleek-looking kettle that quickly heats water to the boiling point then automatically shuts off. We very much like the heating element, a round metal plate almost covering the bottom of the kettle. It's much better than the typical coils we saw overseas. Mentioned in one of the other reviews is the "short" cord of the kettle. It's definitely not a problem -- it's about 2 1/2 feet long, so it's plenty long enough to leave plugged in and pour from the kettle. However there's no need to leave the kettle plugged in once the water heats and the kettle shuts off. Just unplug it! We highly recommend this kettle.
